AhlulBayt News Agency: A new initiative has been launched in Mauritania to promote Quranic values among the younger generation.
The country’s Ministry of Islamic Affairs and Original Education officially introduced the initiative on Sunday in Nouakchott. The project aims to enhance the status of the Holy Quran in the minds of the youth while strengthening its noble teachings.
The initiative seeks to instill Quranic values that emphasize fraternity and solidarity, steering young people away from conflict and backwardness.
During the launch ceremony, Mohamed Lamine Ould Cheikhna, the Director of Islamic Guidance, praised the project as an important effort in serving the Holy Quran. He also expressed gratitude to President Mohamed Ould Cheikh Ghazouani for his directives, reflecting the government’s increasing focus on Islamic education in Mauritania.
Several imams, Quranic readers, and distinguished figures in religious and educational affairs attended the event.
Mauritania, located in the Maghreb region of North Africa, has an estimated population of 4 million, with nearly all citizens being Muslim. Quranic activities and programs are widely popular in the country.
